Staff augmentation is a type of service delivery model where a service provider adds specialists to an organization in order to supplement their existing staff. This type of arrangement is often used when an organization does not have the internal resources to meet its needs and requires outside expertise. Staff augmentation can be used to address an organization’s long-term plan for ensuring expertise continuity while being able to quickly and efficiently add staff to an organization as needed.
In general, the staff augmentation process encompasses three major stages. First, the client accurately defines the specifications for the quantity, qualifications, and experience of the experts requested. Second, the company’s staffing services partner provides a selection of experts to choose from.
