Senior Node.js Engineer
Avenga is looking for a Senior Node.js Engineer to join our team. The project supports one of the world’s leading business news and information organizations, renowned for its authority, integrity, and accuracy. It delivers critical news, commentary, data, and analysis to a global audience of business professionals.
As a Node.js Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the application’s backend infrastructure using Node.js. Your expertise will help us deliver a seamless and efficient user experience for our customers.
What you bring along:
- 5+ years of experience developing web applications using Node.js;
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and experience with Express.js (or similar Node.js frameworks);
- Working knowledge of AWS Lambda, PostgreSQL, and Docker;
- Experience with frontend development (CSS, JavaScript, React) or backend expertise in modern web technologies;
- Familiarity with tools for monitoring, fault-tolerant systems, and performance optimization in cloud environments;
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, test-covered code, including unit and end-to-end tests;
- English – Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Prisma.js and Nest.js;
- Familiarity with UX and design principles.
This is your mission:
- Help shape the technology strategy and assist in technical decision-making;
- Build a new solution from scratch while working across the product lifecycle: design, development, deployment, and maintenance;
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team’s development;
- Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices and consistency across the codebase;
- Communicate widely within the organization to adopt and share best practices;
- Contribute to organizational improvements in process, infrastructure, and team culture.
