Senior Java Engineer
Avenga is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to contribute to our current project in the field of entertainment. The project is a Spanish fintech platform offering innovative payment solutions. It enables businesses to optimize transactions and provides customers with a secure, seamless payment experience.
As a Senior Java Engineer you will take part in delivering cutting-edge, high-quality solutions to solve business problems.
What you bring along:
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems;
- Strong expertise in Java (8 – 17) and Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Batch);
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques;
- Experience with event-driven architectures, MQ, REST APIs, and asynchronous processes;
- Familiarity with design patterns (MVC, Clean Code, Hexagonal) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes);
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and version control (GIT/GITLab);
- Spanish – Mandatory;
- English – Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Node.js and microservices backend architecture;
- Knowledge of Big Data and cloud services (e.g., AWS).
This is your mission:
- Work alongside a highly skilled engineering team to design, develop, and maintain critical components of the credit card platform based on Java technology;
- Deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant software in a timely fashion;
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Partner with cross-functional teams to contribute to large-scale strategic projects and solve complex operational problems;
- Autonomously make solution design decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives;
- Proactively identify system gaps and propose robust solutions to address them;
- Drive meaningful business impact by analyzing problems through an operational and technical lens.
