Seven questions to Quality Assurance Service Coordinator, Juliana, written by Malaysia HR Team

Juliana has been with us since 2017 and she is one of the longest-service employees with the company in the Malaysian branch. We are truly happy to have her as a part of our team and today she is sharing her experience.

What is your role at Avenga?

I started working at Avenga as Senior QA. Along the way, I was given the opportunity to develop my career and recently I took up the role of Quality Assurance Service Coordinator.

As a Service Coordinator, I oversee the cooperation between the testing team located in Kuala Lumpur and Poland, so that we are all on the same page in making every project a beauty. This includes communication within the team as well as with the clients’ teams. It is my responsibility to make sure the testing services are delivered with the highest quality.

What is it about your position that you like the most?

The challenges. It requires non-stop interaction, that is communication and cooperation between all the people involved in Kuala Lumpur, Poland, and on the client’s side.

I would say it takes experience to clearly convey points to different audiences and make sure my colleagues achieve their goals and are productive and happy to deliver their work.

What inspires you to do your best at work?

Self-satisfaction. There are always challenges, be it people, the project, management, etc. Though, once I put my best foot forward and manage to handle the challenges, it brings me self-satisfaction vibes. The fact that my hard work can help me achieve greater success is what keeps me going. Hence, if you can make the best out of a situation, why stop? Go and strive the best for your own self-satisfaction!

How do you usually handle stress?

Like many other people, I enjoy simple human pleasures, like good food and traveling to get more exposure, and I started a new hobby recently – gardening!

What keeps you motivated?

I started my career path with the opportunity to be a tester. Thus, I would say, this great journey requires flexing my skills and growing my creative muscles. The feeling of accomplishment that comes with achieving goals is what I like the most. I take pride in the work that I do and it is humbling when I see a solution that I was a part of being used in the real world.

What’s your favorite movie? Why?

The Harry Potter series and the Fast & Furious sequel. Magic and speed are the things that I believe are required in life; a little magic and how eager you are to catch up on things in life.

Anything you would like to say to your fellow teammates or to those around you?

Nana korobi ya oki ( 七転び八起き )

This is a Japanese proverb that literally means ‘even if you fall seven times, you get up eight times’. Failing is not necessarily a bad thing. It forces us to grow and try things that are out of our comfort zones and that we wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. Oftentimes, people take failure as an absolute extreme. If someone never fails, how are they ever going to learn the good and the bad? If you fall, learn to get back up!
